STRUTHERS LIBRARY THEATRE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN 2025

“Preserving Heritage, Building Tomorrow”

WHAT IS A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN?

A capital campaign is a large-scale, time-limited fundraising effort by a nonprofit to raise a significant amount of money for specific, high-cost projects, such as constructing new facilities, renovating existing buildings, purchasing equipment, or acquiring land. These campaigns are strategic and typically last for multiple years.

Why should I donate?

It’s your theatre! Since its opening 142 years ago, Struthers Library Theatre has been a vibrant cornerstone in the Warren Community. Eight generations have gathered here to enjoy performances, celebrate milestones, and create unforgettable memories. Today, as we look to the future, we are excited to launch our “Preserving Heritage, Building Tomorrow” capital campaign of 2025. We invite you to join us in this vital endeavor.

OUR PROJECTs:

Following a successful capital campaign in 2015, which included a new elevator and lift for ADA compliance, amongst many other improvements, it was discovered that individual donors were the largest single source of gifts. For a small town like Warren, this is something to be particularly proud of. And now, with decades of natural wear and tear, our beloved theatre needs crucial upgrades to ensure it remains a safe, accessible, and inspiring space for future audiences. Our capital campaign’s goal is to raise $552,000 to fund these critical renovations. Your support will directly impact our ability to continue providing a cultural hub for the community. Specifically, we plan to:

● Replace aging windows to improve energy efficiency and preserve the historic character of the building.

● Install new carpeting in the house, balcony, hallways, and Friend’s Room to enhance safety, comfort, and aesthetics.

● Upgrade to LED lighting for better illumination and energy conservation.

● Replace 142-year-old galvanized steel plumbing, ensuring safety and reliability.

● Install a lighting truss above the stage to support beautifully pleasing and visually dynamic performances.

● Restore original 142-year-old terrazzo flooring in the lobby to its former glory.

● Install a permanent front-of-balcony rail to support additional lighting and stage

projectors.
