The StepCrew at Struthers Library Theatre in Warren, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at 3:00 PM. The StepCrew is a dynamic dance production combining three percussive dance styles— Irish, Tap, and Ottawa Valley, accompanied by some of the most virtuous musicians from the Celtic, traditional, and rock genres. The StepCrew achieves the ultimate balance of respecting traditional dance forms and creating exciting modern fusions never seen or heard before. The show will have the audience literally on its feet!  Featuring special guest Sixpence.  Presented by The Defrees Family Memorial Fund and The Community Foundation of Warren County.

Growing up, two brothers from rural Ontario, Nathan and Jon Pilatzke, spent their summers traveling around Ontario, competing in Fiddle and Stepdance festivals. Years later, they encounter The Chieftain's lead dancer Cara Butler, a multi-time Irish Stepdancing champion. The three friends unknowingly and unwittingly create the core, physically and conceptually, for The StepCrew.

The StepCrew boasts performers from The Chieftains, Cherish The Ladies, Lunasa, Loreena McKennit, Carlos Nunez, and Bowfire. As six-time Grammy Award winner Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains quotes, "The StepCrew does not simply draw their audience in, they take them by the hand and remind us what dance is meant to be about – fun!"

SIXPENCE

The StepCrew will be joined by Warren’s own Sixpence.  The acoustic alchemy of Sixpence features Celtic harp, guitar and voices in a centuries-spanning repertoire. Celtic and British folk, earthy Americana, psychedelic rock from the 60s and 70s and inspired originals are woven into unique interpretations by this Warren, Pennsylvania based duo of William Russell and Ellen Paquette.
